Marc J. Giampaola is a leader in the Financial Services industry group and a CBIZ CPAs P.C. shareholder in the Hartford, Connecticut office. Marc has more than 25 years of experience managing, conducting, reviewing, and analyzing financial information. Marc’s primary industry focus is financial institutions, along with insurance, manufacturing, and technology & life sciences companies.
He is highly qualified in evaluating business processes and internal controls via audits for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and FDICIA reporting. He has been involved in numerous external and internal audit related engagements, consulting services, and forensic investigations related to financial fraud. He also has extensive experience with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements for publicly traded companies, including quarterly and annual filings, and registration statements, including Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) and initial public offerings.
Marc serves as the attest practice leader for the Financial Services industry group working with the National Office on methodology and professional practice development. He has contributed to articles on a variety of industry topics including allowance for credit losses, FDICIA reporting, and accounting for split-dollar life insurance policies, and has instructed a variety of educational sessions to other CPAs and finance executives. He is hands-on with the team he has built to serve clients and listens to their reporting needs and policy considerations. Marc is dedicated to audit quality, which has been proven in successful PCAOB and Peer Review examinations.
